Grugal, Richard Lee
Passed away peacefully on July 31 at the age of 69 after a fifteen month battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Darlene; loving mother-in-law, Janet Grahek; brother-in-law, Jon (Eileen) Grahek; and sister-in-law, Ana Grugal. He is also survived by special nieces Ashley Grahek, Jill Grugal, and Jodi Thostenson; and nephews Andy Grahek and Steven Grugal. In addition, Rich is survived by a caring circle of cousins and friends, and his brother Knights of Columbus. Rich was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David and Floyd; and father-in-law, John Grahek. Rich was a proud Army veteran of Viet Nam and a member of IBEW Local 292. He loved German Shepherds, family, fishing, winters in Fort Myers, and traveling the world. The family would like to thank Rich’s oncology staff at the University of Minnesota and the Fairview hospice team for their support and compassion. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday August 5 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 9100 93rd Avenue North, Brooklyn Park, 55445, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at 12:15PM Monday August 8 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery Assembly Area 2.
