Obituary for William "Will" Nettleton

William “Will” Nettleton, age 41, born on September 9, 1981, sadly passed away on November 6th, 2022 from a massive heart attack.

Will was raised by his parents, Jeff and Mary Nettleton in Brooklyn Park, MN. Will will be remembered by being a true family man. He was an amazing son, brother, uncle and friend. Always a kid at heart, he was the first to entertain his nieces and nephews with games and jokes at every family gathering. His family meant the world to him and he brought so many smiles and filled the room with laughter every time they were near.

From a young age, Will embraced nature and all that it could offer. He loved camping, kayaking, climbing, hunting, fishing, and hiking. He could spend hours just looking and being one with the trees. This passion developed in his younger years and led him to his career at Three Rivers Park District as a Park Technician. One of his favorite places was the North Shore and he loved to spend time with his family at their off-grid cabin. He would spend time there looking at the lake, sitting by the bonfire, and talking to his family.

He also had a strong love and passion for malamute dogs and dog sledding. He was survived by his dog, Torsten, who brought him much happiness. Prior to Torsten, Will had Odin, who was his pride and joy. These dogs meant the world to him.

Prior to his passing, in October, Will went on his lifelong dream trip to the RedWoods with his girlfriend, Jenna. Going to see the Red Woods was a trip Will talked about taking for years.

Will was preceded in death by his grandparents Mary and William Panchyshyn, his grandparents Mary and Wally Nettleton, and his dog, Odin.

Survived by Jeff Nettleton (Father), Mary Nettleton (Mother), 4 brothers and sisters, Bryan (Erin) Nettleton, Gretchen Nettleton (Matthew Williams), Chris (Megan) Nettleton, Angie (Andrew) Cope, Nieces and Nephews Kay Nettleton, Katrina Nettleton, Dakota Anderson, Samantha Emery, Amber Nettleton, Quinlan Nettleton, Finley Nettleton, Isabelle Cope, girlfriend, Jenna Marong and dog Torsten.

It is a place of compassion, sincerity, professionalism, and staff who go above and beyond their call of duty. Our family has sadly used both chapels over the past months. The caring did not stop after the services. They offer their continued compassion to adults and children. With grateful hearts thank you.
