Wendell Philmalee
March 6, 1932 - July 14, 2025
Wendell Hoyt Philmalee, born on March 06, 1932, in Albion, NE was sent to his eternal home on July 14, 2025, in Robbinsdale, MN, due to a significant fall that he was unable to recover from.
Windy, as he was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Windy is survived by his loving children: Debra (Gregg), Dawn, Jon (Kris), and Wendy (Jim). Also, by his loving grandchildren, William (Michelle), Cheri (Andy), Jamie (Matt), Matthew (Kelly), Bryan (Jenny), Brandon (Victoria), Garrik, Auna, Alexandria, Samantha. Lastly, by his numerous great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his loving wife of many decades, Eleanor Philmalee.
After his graduation from Albion High School, Windy joined the marines and was deployed to the Korean war as part of the motorcade. After which he moved to Minnesota to attend Dunwoody Academy studying auto body work. He was then employed for a number of years before venturing forth and opening what is loving called “the shop” in the early 70’s. Windy’s Auto Body was his baby.
The wake and funeral service to honor the life of Wendell Philmalee will be held on July 25th 2025, at 9:30 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (mass at 10:30am), 9100 93rd Avenue N, Brooklyn Park, MN.
Although Windy’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.
