Obituary for Verna B. Pauley

Verna B. Pauley, passed away at the age of 90 on August 6, 2019, in her Golden Valley home.

Preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene; parents, Axel & Rebecca; and brother, Lowell.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-laws, Steve & Joyce, Jeff & Pam, Tim & Ruth Ann. She is also survived by grandchildren, Drew, Darin (Sarah), Carolyn (Bobby), Marie (Chris) Leigh (Bobby), Allison and Rachel; as well as great-grandchildren, Noah, Jack, Luke and Aiden.

Verna grew up in rural Flandreau, SD, and Pipestone, MN, and graduated from Sioux Valley Hospital School of Nursing. In retirement, after a career as Director of Nursing for Golden Valley Heath Center and Douglas County Hospital, she continued to pursue her passion for sewing and also enjoyed travel that included retreats to a winter home in Arizona. Verna’s family and friends will remember her eloquence and elegance, strength and tenacity, brilliance and beauty, great love for her family and compassion for others.

Funeral Service 10 AM Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 Second St NE, Osseo, with Visitation satring at 9 AM. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Calvary Center Cooperative.
