Sylvia Elaine, age 92, of Minnetonka, passed away peacefully on December 10, surrounded by family. Preceded in death by her husband, Waldo; son, Dennis Schleif, and 9 siblings, Survived by children, Gary (Joni) Schleif, LuAnn Plohocky, Vicki (Rich) Sanchez; grandchildren, Scott, Jason, Travis, Sara, Krista, Dorothy; great-grandchildren, Kiera, Alexa, Ryan, Dylan; sister, Betty Schirmer. Funeral service 11AM Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center. Interment Glen Haven Cemetery. Visitation after 10AM, Saturday, at the funeral home.

Evans-Nordby funeral chapel in Osseo, MN handled my husband’s cremation and Celebration of Life service in July of 2023. I can’t say enough positive things about all aspects of my interactions with them. They reached out to help every step of the way—from planning the Celebration of Life service, the service itself, and after care contact. Brittney was the person I primarily worked with. She was kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, organized, and had great communication skills, which greatly helped in reducing my stress level. I plan to contact Evans-Nordby soon to pre-plan my own final arrangements.
