Susan R. Princeton
September 13, 1944 - April 12, 2025
Susan Rae Princeton, age 80, of Maple Grove, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025. She was born in Denver, Colorado on September 13, 1944 to Kay (Thompson) and Henry Hayden. Her father’s job had them moving frequently throughout her childhood. In addition to Colorado, they lived in Missouri, Iowa, Indiana, and Minnesota. Sue graduated from Faribault High School in Minnesota in 1962. She earned a teaching degree from the University of Minnesota. Following college, she taught elementary school in the Robbinsdale school district for several years.
Sue married the love of her life, Joel Princeton, on June 6, 1970, with whom she shared two daughters and a son. She worked alongside her husband in the family business at the liquor store, and later became a travel agent, owning her own travel agency. She was devoted to her family. With Joel, she coached her children’s baseball and softball teams, and attended every sporting event, play, recital, and concert she could for her children and grandchildren. Sue enjoyed traveling and knitting, and she loved animals. Friend to many and loved by all, Sue was a gentle and loving soul. People were drawn to her kindness.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Joel; parents, Kay and Henry; an infant brother, Bobby; her grandchildren, Cora and Casandra Kellen, and Grant Simek. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kim (Jeff) Kellen of Nevada, Iowa, and Kelli (Nick) Stanoch of Maple Grove; her son, Bill (Chrissy) Princeton of Maple Grove; grandchildren Daniel, Joel, and Eva Kellen, Jacie and Jordyn Stanoch, and Isabella Princeton; brother, Bud (Vesta) Hayden of Sun Lakes, Arizona, and many friends.
