Obituary for Shirley M. Lunde

Shirley M. Lunde (Molstead), age 85, of Maple Grove, passed away Jan 5, 2022. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother– her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Shirley was born on May 13, 1936 in Warwick, ND; she graduated from St. Mary’s in Devils Lake, ND where she was class president her senior year. She married Raymond H. Lunde April 15, 1956. They were married for 63 years. She worked in the banking industry for over 40 years retiring from Anchor Bank in 2008. Shirley was an avid world traveler but her favorite trips were her annual trips with Ray to Hawaii and her most memorable were trips with the entire family to Disney World. Hobbies included reading, crafting and sewing. She will be remembered for her fabulous apple pies enjoyed at the holidays, her warm and lovingly made quilts and her enormous generosity.

Preceded in death by husband, Raymond; parents, Clarence & Alvira Molstead; sisters, Loidah Bosch and Bernice Petersen.

Survived by daughters, Vicki (Daniel) Doar, Sandra (Gordon) Hofman, Joyce Lunde (James Pearson), Susan (Peter) Hunt; grandchildren, Amanda (Bradley) Veit, Jessica Doar, Kari (Jordan) Hamm, Kaitlin Hofman, Jacob Moter, Carter Hunt, Samantha Hunt; and great-grandchildren, Jackson, Owen, Evelyn, Quinn.

At her request a private family graveside service will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
