Obituary for Sheri Streachek

Sheri Streachek, age 64 from Maple Grove, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at the University of Minnesota Hospital. She lived a selfless lifestyle that extended beyond her devotion to her friends and family. Sheri’s altruistic faithfulness included nature as well. She had a passion for recycling; Sheri was the perfect model for a green earth. A half bag per week of garbage was the rule; the rest was recycled or composted. Sheri completely gave of herself throughout her life to uplift and help others. So, it is fitting that after her passing, when she had nothing else to give, she donated her organs so that others may have life. Her donations to medical research also provided hope to those who depend upon such research for a better life.
Sheri grew up on a farm in Glencoe, MN. After graduating from Glencoe High School and Mankato Vo-Tech in computer science, Sheri settled in Minneapolis. In 2018, she retired as a database administrator for BI Worldwide after 30 years of service. Being health conscious, she made exercise a priority. A minimum goal of 10,000 steps a day and yoga were included in her daily routine. She achieved a 3rd degree black belt status in Tae kwon do. Sheri loved to cook and tried new recipes. Even though she didn't start as a Julia Child, with practice, she became one. Eager to travel; Italy, the Dominican Republic , Costa Rica, and Hawaii were just a few of the visited locales, Broadway plays at the Orpheum (Hamilton, Mama Mia, Jersey Boys...) were a highlight. As a testament to Sheri’s endless drive to learn and tackle any challenge, she most recently found herself accomplishing the feat of operating a bobcat.
However, people were her main focus. At the drop of a hat, Sheri would drop everything to do whatever, and always with a smile on her face. Family, friends...unconditional love, generosity, and a never ending list is what she lived by.
Sheri is preceded in death by her father, Gene, and mother, Frances. She is survived by her husband, Tony Repesh, brother Scott (Annette) their children, a great niece, and their grandmother, Marion, sisters, Jodee and Lisa, Tony's daughters, Erin (Eric) their children and Allison (Logan) their children, sister-in-law, Joyce (Gordy), and numerous relatives and friends. She will be missed.
Her motto; Hugs to you all!! Heart to Heart

I just can't say enough about the help we received in planning my husband's funeral at the Osseo Evans Nordby funeral home. It was a very difficult time and they were so caring, sensitive, helpful and very organized in making the funeral go smoothly. The funeral home in Osseo felt so welcoming and comfortable also. Tina was extremely helpful in guiding our family with planning the funeral and went out of her way in finding the right memorial folder for my husband. I would highly recommend them. Thank you all.
