Sharon S. Williams
January 5, 1950 - October 13, 2026
Sharon Shigeko Williams, age 76, of Maple Grove, Minnesota went to be with the Lord on October 13, 2026 at home with her husband by her side. Sharon is preceded in death by her son, Eric Williams; brother, Calvin Escorpeso; mother, Tomie Ota Escorpeso; and father, Eddie Escorpeso. Sharon is survived by her husband, Gary Williams; son, Matthew Williams; daughter-in-law, Anna (Buckles) Williams; grandchildren, Kea and Kai; and many dear friends. Sharon was born on the Big Island of Hawai’i and grew up in the sugar cane plantation camp in Haina. Her family later moved to nearby Honoka’a. Her grandparents emigrated from Japan and her father was from the Philippines, and she grew up in a close-knit community with roots abroad. Sharon moved to the mainland right after high school, first to Colorado to attend college, then later to Minnesota. She worked her entire 41-year career at Honeywell, where she met her husband, Gary, through friends. She and Gary enjoyed traveling together, especially hiking and camping, and volunteering. They deeply wanted children, and after many struggles, Sharon never gave up and through her strong faith and courage was blessed with a son, Matthew, in 1986. She and Gary were married for 49 years.
Sharon had a gift for humble servitude and strong faith. She was very active in church across her lifetime at Trinity Covenant, Redeemer Covenant, and Local Covenant. She served in numerous ways, often in the background. Sharon made many lifelong friends through church and was blessed to be a significant part of many people’s lives. She especially loved being with children, and many consider Sharon their adopted mother or grandmother. Sharon volunteered throughout her life in local missions and at Covenant Pines Bible Camp and Alaska Christian College. Sharon loved both of her grandkids, Kea and Kai, very much. They brought her much joy and she loved spending time with them. Sharon’s kindness and grace touched many people throughout her life, and she will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Covenant Pines Bible Camp and Alaska Christian College.
