Obituary for Ruth Ervasti

Ruth Elizabeth Ervasti, 82, Osseo, Minnesota, passed away on April 7, 2017.

She was born to Ina and Aldrick Peterson in Calumet, Michigan. After graduating from Trout Creek High School in 1952, she lived/worked in Waukegan, Illinois for 2 years before relocating to Minneapolis. In 1956, she married Marlyn K. Ervasti and they enjoyed nearly 57 years together in the Twin Cities before his passing in 2013. In addition to raising 2 children, she was employed for 25 years and retired from Boise Cascade in 1997.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her sister, Alice Fligelman.

She is survived by her daughter, Colleen (Kevin) Jokinen; son, James (Julie) Ervasti; 7 beautiful grandchildren; 10 beloved great grandchildren; her siblings, Kenneth Peterson, Joanne (Jean) Smith, Michael (Pamela) Peterson, John (Margaret) Peterson; sister-in-law, Florence Castillo; brother-in-law, Bernard Fligelman; nieces, nephews and many brothers and sisters in faith.

The funeral service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Minneapolis Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church at 14000 129th Ave.,Dayton, MN 55327, with visitation on Monday April 10, 2017 from 5-7 PM and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Michael Peterson will officiate.

Casket bearers include: Eric Dawe, Robert Ervasti, Darin Lucarelli, Ryan Lucarelli, Jordan Lundin, Steve Talaga and Craig Walli.

Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
