Robert J. Bachmeier
September 30, 1974 - September 25, 2025
Age 50, of Otsego, passed away suddenly (but surrounded by so much love) in his home on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
Rob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1993-1997. During his enlistment, he spent most of his time stationed at Cherry Point, North Carolina where he made some lasting friendships. He also spent a year abroad serving in Iwakuni, Japan and Darwin, Australia. There, he learned how to drive on the wrong side of the road, drink too much on the subway and even got a tattoo in someone's basement. He knew how to have fun.
Rob worked as the Service Manager at Tracker Marine Boat Center (Cabelas) for the past 12 years. He was proud of the work that he did there and truthfully appreciated the connections that he made while in that role.
Rob loved spending time with his lifetime best friends fishing, hunting and enjoying a good old fashioned while smoking a cigar. Some of his most cherished memories ever were made with these life-long friends, they were actually more like brothers than friends to Rob.
Rob was the proudest dad. He especially enjoyed being the dad to young adults. He loved nothing more than “forced family fun” nights often filled with food, games and a lot of laughter. He was a good sport when asked to make gingerbread houses or play Escape Room board games. He always brought his hilarious competitive side with him. Rob did not need big moments. He cherished the little moments together. Those are what filled his heart with the most joy. He loved his kids way more than they could ever know.
Rob was the husband to Ericka, his high school sweetheart, best friend and biggest cheerleader for 25 years. They loved to garden together, grocery shop together, cook together (ok-he’d cook and she’d watch), build things together…heck, they did EVERYTHING together. All while usually holding hands. He had the best hands.
He was the son, brother, & uncle to the most amazing family who loved him dearly. He was also a son-in-law, brother-in-law & uncle to a family that loved him like their own. He was so proud of all 20 nieces and nephews. He loved being their uncle. He adored each sibling and sibling in law. He was loved. Family was the most important thing to Rob.
He was an amazing cook who did a great job sharing his love through everyone’s stomachs. He was working hard to fatten his family up. He had an amazing mind. He would make sense out of anything. He took such care and precision in everything that he did. Measure 16 times. Cut once. Level 4 times.
Rob was survived by wife of 25 years, Ericka; children, Ali (22), Tyler (20) and Dylan (18); Father, Carl Bachmeier; Sisters, Kim (Bachmeier), Kelly (Jackson), Kerry (Lero) and brother, Rick Bachmeier; and many other family and friends. Rob was preceded in death by his beautiful mother, Rita. We know she is wrapping him so tightly in her arms!
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, starting at 12:00 PM at the Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo, MN. The service will follow at 2:00 PM. There will be a “less formal” celebration of life starting at 3:30 at The Lookout Bar and Grill in Maple Grove, MN
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Rob's honor to the American Heart Association or the Disabled Veterans.
