Obituary for Robert Carter Schnetzler

Robert Carter Schnetzler, 68, of Champlin, MN, passed away at home on March 3, 2024, of complications from glioblastoma, a brain cancer. Rob was semi-retired and enjoyed traveling, baseball, and good food. He wanted everyone to know he lived his life the way he wanted and had no regrets. Rob was preceded in death by his son, Eric Hilla; his father, Charles Schnetzler; his mother, Sammy Schnetzler; and his sister, Ann (Jeff) Ackerman. Rob is survived by his wife, Bonnie Schnetzler; his daughter, Jodi (Ryan) McCormack; his granddaughters, Caragh and Calleigh McCormack; his sister, Margaret (Michael) Jones; his brother, Will (Rosa) Schnetzler; his brothers-in-law, Byran, Ron (Kim), and Roy (Nancy) Jansen; his father-in-law, Ben (Lou) Jansen; his step-mother, Beverly Schnetzler; his step-brothers, Jeff, David (Gay), and Peter Johnston; and cousins. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews he loved and to whom he was known as Uncle Rob.

A memorial service will be held in Minnesota at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo on March 23, 2024, visitation at 1 pm and service at 2 pm. A second memorial service will be held in Maryland at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Silver Spring in April.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's, who Rob supported regularly.
