Rickey "Rick" Hedtke

Rickey “Rick” Hedtke, age 73 of Maple Grove passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Rick lived a full and vibrant life, enriched by many passions - traveling, drawing, fishing, playing cards, and most of all, visiting the casino. He was a proud and entertaining man, always ready with a story and never without an opinion. As a coach, he used those opinions to shape and inspire countless lives. Rick was also deeply proud of his 31-year career as a baker, where his cake decorating talents brough many awards and joy to many. Above all, his greatest proud and joy was his wife and family, who always come first no matter what.

Preceded in death by mother, Sylvia; grandparents, Paul & Louise; stepfather, Leon. 

Survived by wife of 54 years, Shirley; children, Todd (Mechelle), Jamey (Jody), Brandon; grandchildren, Justin, Jarred, Jason, Joel (Joe), Macalister, Brielle; two great-grandchildren, Elaina, Violet; sister, Peggy (Steve), and many other family & friends. 

Visitation from 6-8PM Thursday, 9/25/25 at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 2^nd St. NE, Osseo. Funeral Service 3PM Friday, 9/26/25 at Evans-Nordby in Osseo with visitation 1 hour prior as well. Private Interment.

Memorial preferred to the American Heart Association or to the Cancer Society.
