Bessette, Richard Sherman “Rich," 70 of Brooklyn Center. Vietnam Veteran, Sgt USMC. Active member of Chapter 987 Military Order of the Purple Heart. Former manager at MPI/CDC, Digi, Werneke & Wells Fargo. Longtime District 5 Hockey Referee & Coach. Preceded in death by parents Richard Elmer & Harriet (Plumley) Bessette; daughters, Gabrielle & Lynn. Survived by wife of 47 years, Cynthia (Bottoms); sons, Ray (Wendy), Joseph (Mindi), Steven (Jennifer) Bessette; daughter, Renee (Richard) Voegele; 25 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral Service 1PM Monday, Oct 31, 2016, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4700 Edinbrook Terrace, Brooklyn Park, 55443, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at church. Private interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
