Obituary for Richard S. Hernandez

Richard Salvador Hernandez, age 67, passed away peacefully at Abbott Northwestern Hospital on June 28, 2021 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Fermina, father Robert, sister Guadalupe brother Thomas (Rita) Martinez and sister Gloria (Glenn) Stelling.

Rick is survived by his wife, Laurel, daughter Rachel (Jordan) Linde, brothers and sisters Robert (Sandy) Hernandez, Barb Frane, Phil (Mary) Hernandez, Steve (Debbie) Voight, Joe (Sharon) Hernandez, Theresa Roberts, Michael (Desiree) Hernandez and nieces and nephews, Nicki Martinez, Brian Jennings, Meghan Owata, Lisa Dempster, Chris Wolyniec, LaTawnie Nigon, James Hernandez, Marissa Hernandez, David Voight, Jennifer Hernandez, Brandon Hernandez, Justin Roberts, Jason Roberts, Josh Roberts, Shane Hernandez, Amber Schmitz, Corissa Pederson, Brian Pederson.

Rick enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working on vintage bikes, thrifting, buying and selling vintage sports equipment, watching hockey, listening to loud music, seeking out the newest local fare and taking his dog and grand-dog to the dog park.

We will truly miss his humor, compassion, gentleness, kindness, generosity, love and strength.

Due to Rick’s passion for inner city youth sports, in lieu of flowers, he has requested donations to either Brooklyn Center Little League or a youth hockey association.

Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 7th, at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, 129 29th Avenue Northeast, Minneapolis, 55418. Luncheon to follow.

A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.

I just can't say enough about the help we received in planning my husband's funeral at the Osseo Evans Nordby funeral home.
