Okoneski, Richard E.,
Age 69, of Brooklyn Park, passed away February 9, 2020. Preceded in death by his parents & infant daughter, Melissa. Survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Janet; daughter, Stephanie (Corey) Carlson; granddaughter, Elizabeth & one on the way; sister-in-law, Debbie Peterson; and many other relatives & friends. Richard was the ultimate family man & he is deeply missed. He loved animals (especially his cat), helping others and reading in his down time. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 9100 93rd Ave. N., Brooklyn Park, with visitation one-hour prior. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the family.

Evans-Nordby funeral chapel in Osseo, MN handled my husband’s cremation and Celebration of Life service in July of 2023. I can’t say enough positive things about all aspects of my interactions with them. They reached out to help every step of the way—from planning the Celebration of Life service, the service itself, and after care contact. Brittney was the person I primarily worked with. She was kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, organized, and had great communication skills, which greatly helped in reducing my stress level. I plan to contact Evans-Nordby soon to pre-plan my own final arrangements.
