Obituary for Richard Alberico

Richard Alberico, age 89, of Rogers, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, on December 18, 2023. He is preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 58 years, Faye, daughter MaryBeth, and son Tom. Dick is survived by sister Betty, daughters Linda (Rick) and Lisa (Scott), grandchildren Tommy, Joey, Dominic, Jenner, Maria, Jesse, Mollie and Kyle as well as great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

After graduating from high school in 1952, Dick went to work for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for over 30 years, retiring at age 51. He was a star high school athlete and sports enthusiast. Later, he was proudly inducted into the Edison Sports Hall of Fame and was recognized as a “Grand Competitor and Sportsman” by the Eastside Hall of Fame. He helped start the Brooklyn Center youth football program and was a coach. He also served as President of the organization. As a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, he earned a lifetime membership and served as Grand Knight for the Fr. Schumacher Council 6772 for the years 2012-2013 and 2013-2014.

Our family is blessed to have had him as our Dad, Gramps and Papa Dick. Along with his stories, exceptional culinary skills and love for cowboy shows, we will remember him for his incredible strength, selflessness, love and pride for his family, while instilling in each of us an unwavering faith in God. He was always our soft place to land, our rock and our hero. He will continue to inspire us from heaven.

A special thanks to the North Memorial staff and Hospice team for their support and kindness.

It is a place of compassion, sincerity, professionalism, and staff who go above and beyond their call of duty. Our family has sadly used both chapels over the past months. The caring did not stop after the services. They offer their continued compassion to adults and children. With grateful hearts thank you.
