Paul Smith

Paul Clifford Smith, 79, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026.

Beloved husband of 51 years to Jacky. Loving father of Barry, Drew (Catie), and Kenny (Gigi). Proud grandfather of Parker, Olive, Maisie, and Calvin.

Born in Fairfield, Iowa, Paul grew up alongside his siblings Kay, Steve, Ann, and Cyndi. Family remained one of the most important parts of his life, and he stayed close with his brothers and sisters throughout the years. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Harriett and Kenny, and his son, Barry.

After graduating from Iowa State University, Paul moved to the Twin Cities to begin his career as a CPA. There he met Jacky, and together they spent the next 51 years building a wonderful life and raising their family in Edina. Paul also proudly served in the National Guard and built a successful real estate business developing lakefront properties in northern Wisconsin.

Paul approached life with energy and enthusiasm. He enjoyed running, tennis, biking, following sports, and staying active well into his later years. He also loved to travel and explore new places, from family reunions to adventures across the United States and around the world.

Inspired by his father’s work as a florist, Paul developed a lifelong passion for flowers. He took great pride in creating and caring for a beautifully landscaped yard. He was never happier than when sharing those spaces with family, friends, and the many dogs that were cherished members of the family throughout his life.

Above all, Paul will be remembered for his warm smile, friendly nature, strong work ethic, and the countless memories he created with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
