Obituary for Patricia "Pat" Proctor

Patricia “Pat” Proctor of Brooklyn Park, passed away surrounded by love on December 31, 2017, at the age of 81. Pat was born November 25, 1936 and grew up on a farm in the New Prague area. She met Gene Proctor when they both worked at Honeywell; they were married in 1956. They lived first in Minneapolis, then built a home and raised their three children in Columbia Heights, eventually moving to Brooklyn Park in 2002. Pat worked for many years in the Counselor/Nurse’s Office at Columbia Heights High School, filling in and working with special projects long after her official retirement. Pat and Gene were active and dedicated grandparents, attending countless performances, concerts and sporting events in which their ten grandchildren participated. Following their retirement, they travelled extensively – China, the United Kingdom, Las Vegas and many, many bus trips. Pat loved crossword puzzles, sudoku, Wheel of Fortune, the Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. Rounding out her full life, she was also an active volunteer in her church and elsewhere. Pat was preceded in death by her devoted husband Gene; her parents Paul & Julia Meger; one sister and six brothers. She is survived by her loving children, Don (Kim) Proctor, Deb (Matt) Gillard and Dori Stallings; grandchildren Brittany (Jarryd) Berkness, Brandon (Ari) Proctor, Michael, Michelle, Kristopher and Matthew Kotek, Ben and Gage Gillard, Danielle and Cameron Stallings; a brother Richard (Gert) Meger and twin sister Theresa McNamara; other relatives, friends and her extended church family. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday January 6, 2018 at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church (5929 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center), with visitation at 10:00am, two hours prior to the service. There will be a private inurnment at Crystal Lake Cemetery at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Cross of GloryLutheran Church, J. A. Wedum Residential Hospice, or donor’s choice.
