Obituary for Patricia Ann Marie (Stone) Mallum

Patricia’s life impacted so many people in very diverse ways. As a wife she was loving and loyal, as a mother she was nothing less than devoted, as a sister she freely shared her spirit and to her friends and colleagues she was fiercely generous with her knowledge and experience.

Patricia was born on September 9th, 1965 to William and Angela Stone and grew up in Champlin, Minnesota. Patty was welcomed into heaven on May 26th, 2022. The youngest of five girls, she developed strong instincts early on that allowed her to read people, anticipating their needs, often times putting those needs above her own. She married Andrew Mallum on June 9th, 2007. Her loving husband Andy embraced her sons Edward and Nicholas and along with Andy’s son Tyler, they all became a formidable blended family.

Patricia’s career life began at the age of 20 in the court system at Anoka County where she developed strong organizational skills, working alongside judges and lawyers, sorting out the complex world of the justice system. Her years of successful experience launched her career into the very demanding position of a procedural/software trainer for the State of Minnesota servicing multiple districts across the state. But even with the demands of being a wife, mother, sister, friend and career woman, she pushed herself to continue her education. Her longing to constantly improve herself personally gained her the opportunity to participate in the Fellowship program of the National Center for State Courts/Institute for Court Management where she earned the prestigious certification normally only offered to a very few in her position. Her dedication to her loved ones and the people around her is unquestioned.

Patty’s spirit will forever impact her loving husband Andy Mallum, her sons Eddie and Nick, her stepson Tyler, her mother Angela Stone, sisters Debra (Steven) Stephan, Julie (Greg) Hennek, and Amanda Rathmanner. She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and dear, dear friends and colleagues. Patty was preceded in death by her father, William Stone, sister, Dianna Lapham, and brother-in-law David Rathmanner.

A Celebration of a Beautiful Life will be held on June 6th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. starting with a mass at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Anoka, Minnesota. Immediately following the mass, the celebration of Patty’s life will continue in the Faith Community Center of the church with the opportunity to share stories, view photographs, and spend time as a loving family and community.
