Obituary for Oliver Nickolas Fosse

Oliver Nickolas “Nick” Fosse, 76, of Rogers MN, passed away on August 18, 2016. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Peggy (Nelson) Fosse, his daughters, Deborah (Keith Hamilton) Haugdahl, Nicole (Russell) Hensley and Bethany (Kimberly Whiting) Chesney, and his grandchildren Ashley, Casey, and Sydney Haugdahl, Madison and Jack Hensley, and Jacob and Kerrigan Chesney.

Born in Henning MN on July 10, 1940, he was the son of the late Maynard and Ruth (Doolittle) Fosse. Nick married Peggy on August 15, 1964, and shared 52 years of being husband and wife, best friends and closest confidants.

Nick was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army where he actively served as a cryptographer from 1959 to 1961, and was honorably discharged in 1965. Thereafter, he worked for 38 years across various management positions at Honeywell. When not at work, Nick loved to be with his precious family. Wonderful memories were made at the lake going fishing and boating, catching fireflies, and enjoying bonfires and sunsets. Nick also loved classic tractors and cars. His grandchildren will remember their “Bup” as a kind, gentle giant with a huge heart for everyone. He was a simple yet complex man with many talents. He was a carpenter, built a cabin/lake home, cut the logs and made the lumber for it. He was a hunter, a fisherman and a teacher of all of these to his amazing daughters.

Nick is survived by his wife, daughters and grandchildren as well as his sisters Ramona Anderson, Barbara Peterson, Twyla (Roger) Campeau and Sharon Luhning and sister-in-law Harriet Odden. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Raymond, Rodney and Floyd Fosse, and his baby boy brother and infant sister Rebecca.

It is a place of compassion, sincerity, professionalism, and staff who go above and beyond their call of duty. Our family has sadly used both chapels over the past months. The caring did not stop after the services. They offer their continued compassion to adults and children. With grateful hearts thank you.
