Obituary for Merrilee North-Will

Merrilee Judith North (Atwood) was born on March 25, 1948, in Rice Lake, Wis. Merrilee passed into her eternal, heavenly home April 20, 2021 at the age of 73. She was the daughter of John Louis and Julia Lucille (Mott) Atwood. Merrilee grew up in Paynesville, Minn., where she graduated from high school. She attended Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa, and received a vocal music education degree. Merrilee taught vocal music in Minnesota. In her college years, Merrilee met and married Les North, who later became a Methodist minister. Later in life, she married Brian Will, who preceded her in death in April 2020. Merrilee was a member of the Paynesville United Methodist Church and the Brooklyn Park United Methodist Church and was a choir member in both churches. She also was a pianist and choir member in a Morman church. She will be remembered as a loving and giving woman of faith. She is survived by her sister Merrilyn Downs of Rockford, Minn.; and brothers John R. Atwood of Minneapolis, Minn., and Barry L. Atwood of Delano, Minn.

Funeral Service 11AM Tuesday May 4, 2021 at Brooklyn United Methodist Church, 7200 Brooklyn Blvd. Brooklyn Center, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at church. Interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
