Melvin Hardy, age 89, of Maple Grove, passed away on December 18, 2025.

Melvin was 1 of 17 children born to Emil and Elma Hardy on October 17, 1936 in Milaca Township. He grew up in the Milaca area and proudly served in the US Army. Melvin met Karen Krueger through a mutual friend in the summer of 1963 and they were married at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop, MN. They lived in South Minneapolis and Robbinsdale before moving to Maple Grove. Melvin enjoyed hunting and fishing for many years. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and love for his family.

Preceded in death by his parents and 16 siblings.

Survived by his wife of 60 years, Karen; son, Brian Hardy; daughter, Vicki (Gary) LaTraille; grandchildren, Alicia (Mitchell) Scott and Alex LaTraille; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service 12 noon Monday, December 29, 2025, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 4240 Gettysburg Ave. N., New Hope, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at church.

Interment 12 noon Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Forest Hill Cemetery, Milaca.
