Marvin Victor Koukkari passed away on October 8, 2026 at the age of 89. He was born on May 22, 1937. He graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1955 and enlisted in the army where he served as a medic. After discharge he moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin where he was employed as a scale operator. He was a member of the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church.
He married Karen Prusi on February 18, 1961. They raised three children Kevin, Kim (Joel) Heckman and Kurt. He is survived by his wife, children and two granddaughters Erika and Jenni Heckman as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters in faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Laina Koukkari, a sister Jean, brother-in-law Floyd Tuominen, brother David Koukkari, brother-in-law Phil Hyry, sisters-in-law Carol Hyry and Candace Johnson.
Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026. at the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church in Dayton, funeral at 1:00 p.m. with Glenn Liubakka officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery with lunch following.
