Marie Rose Zalusky, born December 5th, 1926 in Appleton, MN to Ignatius "Joe" and Edna Bonk. She was a 1944 graduate of Appleton High School, and worked as a bookkeeper at the school for several years. A devoted wife and mother, she dedicated her life to raising her two sons. Marie was a woman known for both poise and grace. She also loved to have fun and play jokes on loved ones. Marie had unconditional love for her family, taking care of those in need. Marie was a faithful Catholic and looked to God for guidance throughout her life.
Preceded in death by her husband, James Oscar Zalusky; brothers, Frank and Albert Bonk and sisters, Helen Johnson, Louise Schlueter, Valeria Buchanan, Dorothy Cragg, Margaret Wederath, and Marian Bonk.
Survived by children, Michael (Catherine) and Mark (Donna); grandchildren, Kristen Swanson (Gregg), Matthew Zalusky, Phillip Zalusky, Matt Lichterman, and Shannon van Alst(Dennis); 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Janette Rheingans, Joan Wederath, David (Anne)Bonk, and Katie(Roger) Mahoney; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Wednesday, Nov. 8, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 7025 Halifax Ave. N., Brooklyn Center. Interment Ft. Snelling Natl. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Jude’s.
