He graduated from Bloomer High School in 1945 and at the age of 17, he enlisted in the US Navy during WW II. He trained in Great Lakes, Illinois. At the end of his training, he contracted rheumatic fever and spent the next 16 months recuperating in naval hospitals in Idaho and California. Lynn met Sally Kind at a Gambles work event. They married in August of 1957 and made their home in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota where they raised two children. Lynn was a loving and dedicated husband and father. In later years, Lynn and Sally split time between their homes in Brooklyn Center and Yuma Arizona, returning to live in Minnesota full time in 2019.

Lynn enjoyed sports and he was one of 3 people to represent Minnesota in the National All Star Match Game Bowling Tournament in Chicago in 1950. He participated in bowling, golf, tennis, water volleyball, table tennis, pool, and horseshoes.

Lynn’s volunteer work included: Commander of Duoos Bros. American Legion Post #630 in Brooklyn Center in the early 1960’s, Board of Deacons at Redeemer Covenant Church in Brooklyn Park, and Board of Trustees at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Industry Chairman of the Employee Division of the Minneapolis United Fund, President of the Palmer Lake Elementary School PTA and Boy Scout leader for 5 years.

I just can't say enough about the help we received in planning my husband's funeral at the Osseo Evans Nordby funeral home. It was a very difficult time and they were so caring, sensitive, helpful and very organized in making the funeral go smoothly. The funeral home in Osseo felt so welcoming and comfortable also. Tina was extremely helpful in guiding our family with planning the funeral and went out of her way in finding the right memorial folder for my husband. I would highly recommend them. Thank you all.
