Lyle Joseph Nicklay passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025, surrounded by family. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Josephine "Josie". Lyle is survived by daughter, Cindy Nicklay; sons, Dan Nicklay (Mary) and Joe Nicklay (Lynn); and his grandchildren, Christine Brickzin, Laura Laberda (Jeremy), and Cassandra Forgaard (Ryan), Matthew Nicklay, Colin Nicklay, and Lisa Carlson (Jon); and great grandchildren, Hank Laberda and Hazel Laberda; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 11AM at The Church of St. Gerard, 9600 Regent Avenue North, Brooklyn Park, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
