Lisa Johnson
February 4, 1967 - June 14, 2026
It is with both a heavy heart and a profound sense of gratitude for her vibrant life that we announce the passing of our loving mother, Lisa Jane Sophia Johnson of Brooklyn Center, who left us on June 14, 2026 at the age of 59. She was born on February 4, 1967 in St. Louis Park, MN.
Lisa was a fiercely free spirit who viewed the world as a grand adventure waiting to be explored. Her curiosity knew no bounds; she was a lifelong learner, nature and animal enthusiast and someone who found genuine wonder in the smallest details of life - whether it was tending to her blooming gardens, trying new foods or sharing untold stories of her proud Finnish heritage. She loved all living things big and small.
To know her was to be wrapped in a warmth that was entirely her own. As a mother, she didn’t just raise her children, she inspired them. She taught us to question the status quo, always work hard, and to love without judgement. Her home was a sanctuary of laughter, endless discussions and unconditional acceptance. She opened her arms and her home to not only her family, but anyone that needed refuge.
Though she walked a challenging path, she refused to let the hardships of life dim her light. Instead, her obstacles only deepened her capacity for empathy and resilience. She chose, every single day, to fight life’s trials with an unwavering spirit, open heart and an incredible sense of humor. She was jovial, funny and loved nothing more than to joke, laugh and bring mischief into the moment. Her quick wit and infectious laugh were her armor and her gift, turning even the darkest days into moments of shared joy. Lisa was willing to listen and help so many people even if it was just talking on the phone. She gave the best advice to so many people.
She’s leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Her legacy is one of kindness, endless wonder and a reminder to live authentically and love deeply, no matter the troubles we face.
She is survived by her husband, Godfrey Johnson and devoted children, Jessica Alexander (Sean Rye) and Eric Alexander (Jennifer Alexander). She is predeceased by her mother, Majorie Anderson and father, David Anderson; her brothers, Eric Anderson and Dave Anderson; and her many dear friends.
In lieu of a traditional service and in true alignment with her wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
