Age 88, of Golden Valley, MN, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 21, 2021. Preceded in death by parents Frank and Elizabeth Schiestl, sister Eleanor Taylor and brothers Donald and Leonard.

Lee, born in Ashland WI, served in the US Army and was a proud employee of the Soo Line / Canadian Pacific Railroad in Mpls for 38 years. He loved the outdoors: fishing, hunting, camping and hiking. Lee treasured traveling by rail, woodworking, time at the caboose-cabin in WI and the lake-cabin in MN, and time with family.

Survived by: wife Shirley of 68 years, sons Randy (Barb) and Dale (Carol), daughters Jan (Dan) Arbogast and Linda (John) Otto-Wilke. 10 grandchildren: Jennifer, Brent, Sarah, Jill, Jackie, Bryan, Joe, Brad, Alex and Max and 11 great grandchildren: Stella (12), Frank (8), Corinne (7), Evan (5), Roland (8), Ira (7), Nash (1 mo), Bailey (7), Carly (5), Ella (5) and Blake (2). Private graveside service at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be held in late spring of 2022. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

Our son recently passed away and of course you never expect to have to deal with this for your children so my wife and I were not only devastated but didn’t know what to do or where to turn next.
