Obituary for Leonard Welinski

Welinski, Leonard F. “Lenny," age 86 of Brooklyn Park, passed away unexpectedly May 12, 2016. Preceded in death by his parents Frank and Bridget (Kupka) Welinski; sisters, Ann Anderson, Bernice Pokladnik and Rita Flahave; and brothers, Alphonse Welinski and Harry Welinski. Lenny was born in Little Falls on August 13, 1929. He graduated from Little Falls High School and Bemidji State, where he majored in Chemistry and was a stand-out golfer on the golf team, earning three letters. He served in the US Army and the National Guard from 1952 to 1962. He was drafted during the Korean War and achieved the rank of Master Sargent. Lenny worked as a chemist and industrial chemical salesman, and was a long-time employee of McKesson, Van Waters and Rogers and Univar. On April 8, 1953 Lenny and the love of his life, Marlene J. Kedrowski were married and they enjoyed 63 wonderful years together. He was a caring, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, who became affectionately known as “Bunk”. He was a simple man, who lived a simple life, yet he had an extraordinary impact on those he loved. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf (even some hole-in-ones), cribbage and crossword puzzles, and valued time spent with family above all else. Lenny was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all. These people are wonderful. They went over and above in every possible way to help us with funeral arrangements, the visitation, service and burial, despite the fact that we had a limited budget. They were patient, kind, and treated us like family. This is a funeral home you can trust. Thank you, Evans-Nordby.
