Obituary for LaRayne A. Theis

LaRayne A. (Lust) Theis was born March 12, 1929 in Pierz, MN. She grew up on the family farm near Pierz and graduated from Little Falls High School in 1947. In 1950 she married the love of her life, Joseph Theis, and they moved to the Twin Cities. She lived in Minneapolis and Brooklyn Park, MN where she dedicated her life to her family and the church.

LaRayne carried herself through life with an immense sense of kindness, a kindness that always found itself accompanied with a sense of gratitude and hopefulness. She was the pilar of an entire family, and her impact on each member of that family was immeasurable and will forever be felt. To say her love was unconditional would be an understatement, her love and guidance did not depend on what kind of person you were, it relied solely on her incredible heart, her patience and her faith. LaRayne spoke with a gentle calmness that left no doubt in your mind that she truly cared for you.

Whether it was with her words, or with the embrace of a hug, when you were around LaRayne you knew how deeply you were loved and cared for. LaRayne is survived by her three sons, several grandsons and granddaughters. She was truly a teacher to them all, departing wisdom, instilling morals, and spreading thoughtful advice to all who were lucky enough to hear her words throughout her time with us.

We celebrate the fact that we were all so fortunate to have been a part of LaRayne’s life, and to have learned from her. To have laughed with her, and to have been held up by her. There is a comfort in knowing that such a kind soul was able to guide and help as many as she did in her lifetime, and that she will continue to guide us, continue to hold us up.

These people are wonderful. They went over and above in every possible way to help us with funeral arrangements, the visitation, service and burial, despite the fact that we had a limited budget. They were patient, kind, and treated us like family. This is a funeral home you can trust. Thank you, Evans-Nordby.
