Obituary for Keegan Andrew Duffy

Keegan Andrew Duffy, age 30 of Maple Grove, MN passed away suddenly Wednesday January 3rd, 2017. Keegan is the son of Dave Duffy (formerly of Saranac Lake, NY) and Jean Duffy (formerly of Alexandria, MN). Keegan was a life long resident of Minnesota who enjoyed golf, fishing, snow boarding, boating and all the many outdoor adventures Minnesota has to offer. He also enjoyed playing guitar, which was his natural talent. After graduating from high school in Mankato, MN, Keegan attended North Dakota State University and graduated with a BS Degree in Construction Management with a minor in Business. He worked in that field for several years. Later, as the construction industry slowed down, Keegan enrolled in Arizona State University to follow his new passion in computers. He graduating with an MS degree in Information Systems Management. From that point on Keegan worked for Maximum Solutions, Inc, a specialty enterprise software company in Edina, MN. He excelled in the IT field, as a systems analyst. He loved his job and loved all his coworkers. He enjoyed the daily challenges of solving major business problems, through enterprise systems software.

Keegan is remembered by his family and friends as a genuinely loving and intelligent young man, of high integrity, with a great sense of humor and an enormous heart -especially for the underdog. He had an instinct for knowing when people were in need and knowing how to help. He accepted them, as they were, without judgement. He spent much of his life helping homeless people, young and old, find their way back to school, or find employment, or find food, shelter and medical care. He had the courage to take risks, to stand up for what he believed in and to set and achieve high goals for himself. Although he was taken much too soon, his legacy of love, kindness and compassion will live on in others.

Keegan is preceded in death by grandfather, Ralph Roers; grandmother, Gisela Duffy; & aunt, Kathy Riley. Survived by parents, Dave & Jean Duffy; sisters, Bridget, Alisha (Kim) McAfee; grandparents, Patricia Roers, Joseph Duffy; and many aunts, uncles, and other family & friends. Mass of Christian Burial 11AM Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 9100 93rd Ave N., Brooklyn Park, MN 55445, with visitation before the mass from 9:30-11AM at church. Interment at St. Vincent’s Cemetery.
