Kathleen A. Pierce
August 6, 1947 - January 22, 2026
Kathleen A. Pierce, age 78, of Brooklyn Park, passed peacefully in her home after her second courageous battle with cancer. Kathleen was born in Minneapolis to Milton and Mildred Arntson. On January 29, 1966 she married the love of her life, Richard Dennis Pierce. Kathleen showed how beautiful it is to love each child and grandchild unconditionally and individually, meeting them where they are at, and encouraging them to flourish. She loved being an annual member of the Hennepin Theater Arts, going to local events and supporting local artists, and reading. Kathleen valued donating and supporting groups for those in need, especially those with disabilities. Kathleen enjoyed her work with Hudson Hot Air Affair as a board member, and as of 2011, a sponsor of the Richard D. Pierce Memorial Flight. Working for Pioneer Press, American Craft Society, Brooklyn Park Police Department, and co-founding Northwest News newspaper were some of her favorite ventures.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, her daughter Kimberly Jo, her mother and father Milton and Mildred Arntson, and her Very Good Boy, Reilly. Kathleen is survived by the joys of her life, her grandsons Keaghan Alexander, Charles Jeffrey, and Richard Dean, her children; Russell, Katherine, Randy (Cat), Kelly (Mike), her siblings Mary (Rick), Pat, and Michael, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Kathleen will be laid to rest with Richard on their 60th wedding anniversary.
