Kari Jo Lokken of Maple Grove, Minnesota passed away on August 25, 2024 due to complications of Ovarian cancer.
She was born in Wilmar, Minnesota on December 26th, 1962. Graduated from Litchfield high school, and went on to graduate from St. Cloud State University with a BS in Communication Disorders and then her Masters also in Communication Disorders at Auburn University in Alabama.
She was a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist for 37 years in the Osseo Areas School District with 35 of those years at Palmer Lake Elementary School. She positively impacted the lives of students, parents, and everyone she worked with.
Kari was such a intelligent and compassionate person. She will be remembered for her big smile and contagious laugh, her quick wit and sense of humor, her love of gardening, nature and animals, her firey adventurous spirit, and her optimistic outlook on life.
Kari is survived by her daughter Grace Lokken, her four sisters and their husbands and their families, other relatives, and many many friends.
Kari had requested that instead of flowers, memorials be given to MOCA (Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance) or Palmer Lake Elementary School in Brooklyn Park Minnesota.
Celebration of Life will be held at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Maple Grove on September 10th, visitation at 1pm and service at 2pm with reception to follow.
