Obituary for Julee Jo Evans-Hodgson

Age 64, of Maple Grove, Minnesota passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at her home. Visitation will be at 11am on Friday, April 30, 2021, followed by a 12pm memorial service at the Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 2nd St. NE Osseo, Minnesota. There will be a luncheon to follow at 1pm at Edinburgh Golf Course, 8700 Edinbrook Crossing, Brooklyn Park, MN. Final interment will be at Carroll Cemetery, Carroll, Iowa, at a later date. Julee was born August 16, 1956 in Carroll, Iowa to Bill and Lois Evans. A graduate of Carroll High School, Julee especially enjoyed her participation in cheerleading, acting in dramatic productions, and was a member of the Ellerbroeck’s Teen Board. She earned her bachelor’s degree from The University of Iowa and taught middle and high school English for many years. Julee loved discussing films and books, decorating her home, and especially cherished the many years with her beagle, Rudy. According to her, the greatest achievement in life was being a mother. She always made a point to go out of her way to make others feel welcomed and included. There was a true zero-bullying policy in the classroom of “Mrs. E-H.” We will always remember her old-school fun-loving spirit and heart of gold.

Julee is survived by her children, Nash (Brittany) Evans-Hodgson of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Alee (Andrew) Gill of Temecula, California; grandchildren Daxton and Leah Gill; her mother, Lois Evans of Scottsdale, Arizona; sisters, Kristee (Jim) McGuirl of Batavia, New York, Holly Evans of St. Paul, Minnesota, Beth (Dave) Halpern of Scottsdale, Arizona; and uncles, Roger (Bev) Prescott of Superior, Wisconsin and Dan (Bonnie) Prescott of Bettendorf, Iowa. Julee was preceded in death by her father, Bill Evans; and sister, Robin Evans; as well as two beloved dogs, Jafar and Rudy.
