Jonathon Kuss
Jonathon Kuss
May 29, 1957 - April 29, 2026
Jonathon Michael Kuss was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 29th, 1957, to Ruth (Russeth) and Fred Kuss. Following a long and difficult health journey, he passed into glory on April 29th, 2026 in Visalia, California, one month before his 69th Birthday. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Tim, Sister Mary Brooks, and niece Michelle Kuss. He is survived by his wife Michelle, his son, Jonathon Christian Kuss, and Grandchildren Peyton Marly and Kainen (Bubba) Kuss, brothers Mark (Debbie), Dan and David (Julie) Kuss and Sister Marti (Mark) Koch, auntie Joan Davig, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and stepchildren and grandchildren.
Jon loved sports and the lifelong friendships and family bonds they created. He and his brother Dan helped start a youth baseball team in Maple Grove. They played baseball, basketball, football and Track for the Fairfax Eagles, where their father, Fred Kuss, proudly served as coach. Jon broke the school record for the two-mile run. His love of competition and teamwork continued during his service in the US Air Force, where he played basketball for the base team in Blytheville, Arkansas. After completing his military career, Jon and Dan played college football for the U of M Bulldogs in Duluth, and loved playing softball with "Me and the Boys" team in the Osseo area. Jon owned and managed grocery stores in Minnesota and Texas.
Jon married Michelle Machipiness in June, 2019 and moved to Visalia, California. He was the blessed recipient of his brother David's kidney on July 7th, 2005. We are so appreciative of all the friends and family that worked together to make this happen and gave him so many more years of life. He was so proud of his son, Jonny, and so delighted to have his wonderful grandchildren.
Jonathon means "gift of God". We will miss his friendly, gentle spirit but are so thankful he was ours for a while on earth.
