John “Johnny” Michael Neururer

John was born on September 17, 1977 and grew up in Maple Grove. John followed in his Dad’s footsteps and had a successful 25 year career in the Sheet Metal industry, where he proved himself to be a loyal, dependable and knowledgeable member of Local Union No. 010-SM.

He beamed with passion, growing chattier than he already was anytime he talked about cars, hunting, hockey and above all his wife and children. He took great pride watching his kids play sports and whether on the ballfield, hockey rink or volleyball court, he built countless connections through their sports community.

He had a quiet faith that strengthened and carried him through. A provider in every sense of the word, he was a selfless man dedicated to giving his family the life he and his wife had dreamed of. Working without time off, coaching his kids’ sports and taking on projects at home - he seemingly did it all. And if some of those projects took a little more time than planned, it usually meant it was because he was going to make certain he did it right or because he knew what was most important and wasn’t going to miss out an opportunity to enjoy what mattered most in life.

A collector of things, he saw value, purpose and found sentiment in everyday things others may cast aside. Always up for an adventure, they enjoyed countless memories camping, boating and had found their true happy place most recently at their cabin.

John leaves behind his loving wife of 20 years, Katie and their three biggest blessings- their
children, Hannah (18), Jacob (15) and Rebekah (13). He also leaves behind his loving parents, Geralyn and John and his sister, Laura Amundsen & family (Josh, Isla and Austin). To his extended family he wasn’t just a brother or son-in-law, he was a true friend in every sense of the word and will be forever missed by Paul and Joy Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Ryan and Corissa Schneider and their kids Blake and Carson Richie and Isabelle and Ashley Schneider.

John’s life will be celebrated on Monday, October 5th, 2026 at Revive Church in Brooklyn Park. Visitation at 10 AM service at 11 AM, with lunch to follow at Noon.

To keep John’s spirit shining bright, the family encourages people to wear something that
represents the unique connection you shared, like a hockey jersey, hunting apparel, a work or car shirt.
