Obituary for John Daniel Nelson
John Daniel Nelson, 64, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday January 7th, 2024, in Litchfield, MN from Pancreatic Cancer.
Born on December 1st, 1959, John graduated from Burnsville High School in 1978 where he participated in theatre. John was involved in many productions including portraying Elvis in "Showtime" and starring in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest".
He went on to graduate from Brown University, where he was selected to be the speaker at his graduation ceremony.
John was an avid golfer, reader, and enjoyed his leisure time amongst other things.
Survived by children, Amy (Chris), Joshua, & Andrea; brother, Steve (Beth); and 2 grandsons.
Preceded in death by parents, Gene & Helen; sister, Nancy; and niece, Jessie.
Celebration of life to be held July 2024 (date & location TBD).

Our son recently passed away and of course you never expect to have to deal with this for your children so my wife and I were not only devastated but didn’t know what to do or where to turn next.
