Obituary for Jody-Kay Patterson

Jody-Kay (Coyle) Patterson, age 48, of Rogers, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of December 12 after a 2-year battle with cancer. Traveling to Crosslake, Carmel or anywhere with family made her smile. However, her unbelievable smile was never brighter than when she was helping others, especially children. This passion for kids made her an extraordinary mom, a favorite aunt and the adopted guardian for all her kids’ friends. This passion also devoted her to charities such as ChildFund International and Operation Christmas Child.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank & Kathleen Mann and Herb & Violet Coyle.

She is survived by her true love and loving husband, Steve; together they cherished time with family including their children, Michael (Cassie), Andrew, and Kaitlyn; step-children, Chris (Stephanie) and Nick (Jess); grandchildren, Caden and Roman; parents, Jim & Judy Coyle; siblings, Jim Coyle (Kelli), Julie (Todd) Martin, Joe (Stacy) Coyle, and John (Misty) Coyle; many nieces & nephews, other relatives and friends.

Her life and passion will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Tuesday, December 20, at Pax Christi Catholic Church, 12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie. Visitation 4-7 PM Monday, December 19, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 2nd St. NE, Osseo, and 1 hour prior to mass at the church.

Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society or ChildFund International.

I highly recommend the team at Evans Nordby. This past weekend, they assisted as we buried my mom. Twelve years ago, they assisted as we buried my dad. Brittney and the staff are so comforting, easy to work with and compassionate. They make every decision simple, and the whole process as painless as possible. I am so happy that we chose this funeral home, and encourage you to consider using them in your time of need.
