Obituary for JoAnne Barrows

JoAnne P. Barrows, age 89 of Brooklyn Park, passed away peacefully on 11/14/24 with her family by her side.

JoAnne taught school at McKinley Elementary in the Anoka-Hennepin District for 17 years. She later taught in Costa Rica and Ecuador, worked in social services in Memphis, TN, and retired from Lutheran Social Services in 1998.

Preceded in death by the love of her life, David Barrows; son, Richard Moen; siblings, Bernard (Marjorie) Hanson, Eugene (Jean) Hanson, Vernon (Betty) Hanson, Arlene (Paul) Brauer, Mickey (Bob) Nelson.

Survived by daughter, Lesli (Bill) Kramer; grandchildren, Kendall, Christian, Peter (Bri); first husband, Orville Moen; Javier Borge-Holthoefer (exchange student/son); and many nieces and nephews.

Private family ceremony and interment was held on Mon 11/18 at Lakewood Cemetery.

Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
