JoAnn Messick

JoAnn Patrice Messick, 73, of Minneapolis, passed away on May 9, 2025, at M Health Fairview Hospital after a short battle with cancer.

JoAnn was born in Minneapolis to Paul L. and Mary E. Messick on July 19, 1951. She graduated in 1969 from Minneapolis North High School. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, sitting outdoors, listening to music, and reading magazines.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, Paul & Mary Messick and twin brother, Joseph Messick. Survived by siblings Paula Justen (Donald), Elizabeth Erickson (Ernie), John Messick (Robin), Mary Morse (Jeff), and countless nieces and nephews / grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota on Thursday June 5, 2025, at 11:00 am. Visitation is one hour prior. Burial will be held at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope, Minnesota following mass and luncheon.

Memorials may be given to NAMI or the Mental Health Foundation of Minnesota.
