Preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Francis Gene Headline; daughter, Jody Cusey; parents, Judith and Ingolf Simley; parents-in-law, Francis C. and Freda Headline; grandparents, Celia and Oscar Simley, John and Olena Lee; sisters, Phyllis Tate and Linda Marthe; brother, Paul Simley; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Verna Headline, Virginia Kummer, Viola Martin, Hazel Kummer, Lois Headline, Rosemary Remillard, Darlene Larish, Andrea Brown, Jeanine Headline, Russell Headline, Richard Headline, Erv Eiler, Wrey Kummer, Russell Martin, Vic Kummer, Roger Larish, Harold Hamilton, Joseph Tate, Len Marthe, and Charlie Swenson.

Survived by daughter, Susan Thorp (Craig); sons, Daniel (Mary McCoy) and Francis C. (Jodie); son-in-law, Scott Cusey; grandchildren, Jay Thorp (Katherine), Russell Thorp (Arynn), Max Headline, Becca Headline, Stephanie McCoy, Jessica McCoy, Francis E. Headline, CJ Cusey, Emylee (Joel) Zacher, and Mara Headline; great grandchildren, Rori Thorp, Calvin Thorp, Crosby Thorp, Kaley Thorp, Owen Thorp, Lauren Zacher, and Harper Baldwin; siblings, Kathy Neset (Gene), Faye Swenson (Lonney Eastvold), David Simley (Sandy), Luther Simley (Paula), and Cindy Brinkley (Bob); sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Irene Eiler, Patty Larish, Linda Huss (David), Lee Simley, Joan Headline, Ted Larish, and David Brown; and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial Service 11 AM Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Brooklyn United Methodist Church, 7200 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center, with visitation beginning at 10 AM.  The live stream of Joan's funeral will be at bumc.org.
