Obituary for Jerald Grenz

Jerald Wayne Grenz (Jerry), “The Grenz”, son of George and Tillie Grenz was born on June 11 1944. He took his last ride to his heavenly home on February 2, 2023.

He grew up on a small farm just outside of Artas, South Dakota where he attended country school until 7th grade and then Eureka public schools, graduating in 1962. He went on to college in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

He accepted a position with the FMC Corporation, and moved to the metro area of Minneapolis. From FMC he took a job with RAYGO, a manufacturer of vibratory compaction machines, managing their drafting department, and finally on to National Computer Systems, where he worked for 26 years, as Engineering Services Manager, retiring from there in January, 2004.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cheryl (Cher); his four children; son Jeremy Grenz, and daughters Kristi Sestak (John), Kayla Harper (Geoffrey) and Carrie Carrigan, along with eight grandchildren: Hailey, Libby and Mallory Sestak; Brittany, Lily and Simon Harper; Quentin and Delaney Carrigan; his sister Lynette Ward (Ron), and his brother Tom Grenz.

He was preceded in death by both parents, George and Tillie, and a younger sister, Margaret.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Cross Winds United Methodist church, (15051 Weaver Lake Road, Maple Grove, MN 55311) on Saturday February 25, 2023 at 3:00 PM with visitation starting at 2:30 PM.

A buffet supper will be provided after the service, at Lyndes Inn in Osseo.
