Obituary for Jeanette "Jan" Eaton

Jeanette "Jan" Eaton (Sowada), 78, formerly of Columbia Heights, MN and St. Croix Falls, WI passed away peacefully on February 5, 2020.

Preceded in death by brother, Raymond Sowada and their parents, Viola and Adolph.

Jan is survived by her husband of 53 years, Edwin and their beloved cat Dante; daughter, Michelle (Raymond) Orieux and grandson, Ethan; sister-in-law, Karen Sowada; niece, Amy and nephew, Brian; Eaton Family including: Glen (Margie), John (Diane) and many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jan taught Kindergarten at White Bear Lake Schools after graduating from St. Cloud State. She was a talented crafter who loved to work with her hands by gardening, canning, and creating crafts of all kinds. She loved all animals. Jan and Ed's "Garden of Eaton" was their labor of love that kept their summers busy and provided lots of produce to share with their friends and family.

Jan's smile, her kind and generous spirit and her raspberry jelly will be missed by all she touched.

The family extends special thanks to the Care teams at St. Croix Hospice and Champlin Shores who made her final months so much better thru their guidance and care.

Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association or Animal Humane Society are appreciated.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 9100 93rd Ave. N., Brooklyn Park, MN. Visitation 1 hour prior. Lunch following at Champlin Shores, 119 E. Hayden Lake Rd., Champlin, MN. Private Interment Ft. Snelling Nat’l. Cemetery Spring 2020 .
