Obituary for Jean Christie Griswold (Rassier)

Griswold, Jean Christie (Rassier), age 90 of Maple Grove passed away peacefully with family members at her side on Nov. 27, 2020.

She leaves behind her children, Scott, Robert (Lori), & Christie (Christopher) Skogman; grandsons Matthew (Jordan) Griswold, Adam & Benjamin Skogman; great-grandchildren, Avri & Jace Griswold; and siblings, Lois, Richard & Margaret.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Richard Griswold. They went to North High School together where she became very involved in student affairs. She then attended college before beginning a career in the government where she was recognized with many awards. They lived in NY during the Korean War where Richard was stationed, before building their home and life together in Brooklyn Center. Jean’s true passion was being with family and friends and spending time together at the cabin on Big Sandy Lake. She especially loved painting, photography, traveling, reading, gardening and being outdoors. She was a beautiful and talented lady, and we were blessed to have had her in our lives. She will be deeply missed.

A private visitation and funeral service (relatives only) will be held on Mon, Dec. 7th with visitation at 9:30-10:30am at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home and service at 11:00am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church both in Brooklyn Center. Interment at Fort Snelling on December 7th at 1:30pm.
