Obituary for James Mason

After a long battle with cancer, James Thomas Mason, 81, passed away January 9, 2024 in his Brooklyn Park MN home with his loving wife Betty by his side.  

Preceded in death by his parents Otis & Stella Mason; Survived by his wife Betty Mason (Hayward/Zallar); His daughters, Heather Czajkowski (Jim), Jennifer Walker & Kristin LaMott; Grandchildren, Matthew, Evan, Kate, Zevry, Gabrielle, Mallory & Cooper; Step-children, Pat Zallar (Tammy), Dan Zallar & Sue Zallar (Tim Myhre); Step-grandchildren, Jake Zallar, Amy Elms, Jim Zallar, Brooke Zallar & Brandon Basil; and many great-grandchildren. 

Born in the Minneapolis area, Jim was a long-time resident of Brooklyn Park, MN. He loved music and played in several bands. He was known to many in the local country music scene for his distinctive voice and bass guitar skills. Jim was quick-witted and always ready to tell you a joke or two. He was the life of any party. His big, boisterous presence will be missed by all that knew him.
