James Lyle Krumrie

James “Jim” Krumrie of Rosemount passed from this life peacefully on August 27,  2025 after a two year struggle with multiple myeloma.  He was preceded in death by father, Lyle.  He is survived by mother, Nancy; brother, Chuck (Susan) and numerous cousins.  A camping and traveling enthusiast, Jim melded his love of the outdoors and the open road with a fascination for geography and geology. 

He was gifted with a quick and irrepressible wit and a generous heart.  He had a keen sense of right and wrong, responsibility and respect.  He suffered neither hypocrisy nor injustice gladly.  He always had his nose in a book, with tastes running from political science to history to outdoor survival to muscle cars.  He enjoyed social events with friends and was such a fan of cinema that Chuck nicknamed him the “Movie Maven”.

He confronted the challenge of his cancer with a remarkable courage and perspicacity.  Always gracious, always loving, Jim was fiercely loyal to his family and friends.  He never forgot a kindness and never dwelled on a slight.  His signature phrase was “I appreciate that”.

Memorial Service 12 noon Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center, MN, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
