James Johnson
James Johnson
March 31, 1942 - May 14, 2025
James Allen Johnson, 83, of Corcoran, passed peacefully into the arms of his heavenly Father on May 14, 2025.
Born in Tyler, Minnesota, to Kenneth and Esther Johnson, Jim grew up with a strong work ethic, a generous spirit, and a deep love for the land. He spent his career “playing in the dirt” as he fondly called it, working as an excavator with Bollig and Sons. His love of heavy equipment didn’t stop at work — he was a proud Caterpillar tractor enthusiast and active member of several collector clubs.
Jim had a deep faith and was a devoted member and volunteer at Faithbrook Church. He found great joy and purpose in tending his tree farm, and his quiet acts of service touched the lives of many. A kind and humble man, Jim was always ready with a helping hand for his neighbors, fellow churchgoers, friends, and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Kathleen Waltz, Diane DiPrete, and Merry Duame; his children, Wayne Johnson, Craig Johnson, and Lori Hall; and his seven grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Center. A social hour will begin at 10 a.m., with the service at 11 a.m. and a reception to follow.
