Ione M. Maassen
Age 95, of Crosby formerly of Brooklyn Center, passed away surrounded by love on April 26, 2018. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph; children, Joseph M. Jr. & Susan Larson; and five siblings. Survived daughter, Diane (Paul) Edison; grandchildren, Lisa Benson, Brian (Jenn) Edison, Geri (John) Gebel (John), Angie (Jeff) Hawkins, Jessica Arthur, Tina (Palmer) Woodruff, Amanda (Brandon) Tomczyk & Vicki (Tom) Wooster; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Gerald Larson and many other relatives and friends. Ione was a faithful servant to the Lord, serving as minister of care for St. Alphonsus C.C. for many years. She was a past board member for the North Memorial Health Care Auxiliary, loved to play golf and bowl with colleagues in her spare time. Ione retried from Minnesota Rubber in 1984 and has enjoyed her family time ever since. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Tuesday, May 1, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 7025 Halifax Ave, Brooklyn Center, with visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at church. Interment at Crystal Lake Cemetery.

Our son recently passed away and of course you never expect to have to deal with this for your children so my wife and I were not only devastated but didn’t know what to do or where to turn next. Evans-Nordby was recommended to us by our Priest and I’m so glad he did. From the moment I talked to Tina on the phone I could tell we were in good hands as she took care of every detail. We met with her the next day and she went through all the aspects of what we were to expect in the coming days, weeks, then months ahead. Every employee we had contact with at Evans-Nordby was kind, compassionate and extremely professional. Thanks Tina and to all at Evans-Nordby for making an unbearable experience at least tolerable.
