Resident of Osseo for over 50 years, passed away on November 30th, 2019. Preceded in death by loving husband of 60 years, Rodney; infant great-granddaughter, Luella; parents, Leonard & Estelle Vandal & siblings. Helen was incredibly talented & giving as well as an accomplished RN surgical nurse for over 30 years at North Memorial Hospital & an instructor for North Hennepin Votech. She loved quilting, ceramics, crafting, canning & being with her family most of all. She was known to always have something fresh baked under the glass dome for the grandkids. She was a member at St. Vincent de Paul & gave back by serving funeral luncheons. Helen’s spontaneous laughter & joy diminished greatly over the last five years due to complications from Alzheimer’s & grieving the loss of her beloved, Rodney. This last year her children noticed her smile returning. They would like to thank SilverCreek on Main for supporting & encouraging their mother, taking her to bingo & fun social events. These people are wonderful. They went over and above in every possible way to help us with funeral arrangements, the visitation, service and burial, despite the fact that we had a limited budget. They were patient, kind, and treated us like family. This is a funeral home you can trust. Thank you, Evans-Nordby.
